Salutations fellow Professor Layton fans what a surprise the Layton fan in me is not dead

OKAY so this journal isn't exactly about our beloved Professor, but more about the Prof.
In other words, Layton Brothers: Mystery Room!

I got the game as soon as it was released for the iOS, and I played it until midnight because it was just that good. I'm not kidding, Level-5 has made an amazing statement with their new game! See here, Mystery Room isn't exactly like the old Layton games. This one focuses more on crime solving, so there aren't any puzzles to play. But don't worry, the gameplay makes up for it.
I absolutely love how Level-5 arranged the story and invented the quirky characters. It really puts you at the edge of your seat. And, speaking of characters, Mystery Room features two new significant characters to us: Inspector Alfendi Layton and Detective Constable Lucy Baker.

Let me tell you right now, Lucy is like an exact mix of Luke and Emmy. I mean, the hat, how her hair flips in the back, and her stubborn atittude goes for Luke, and her uniform, facial structure, and rowdy personality goes for Emmy. Not to mention that she is also and apprentice/assistant to the Inspector, and her name "Lucy" seems to be a portmanteau of "Luke" and "Emmy". I don't know, maybe it's just me, but she is just so precious and I love her to bits. In game, she is portrayed to be a rookie, and she narrates most of the parts in the game, which makes the story even more interesting when put in her perspective.
I mean interesting because of this guy right here.

"So he's the one who is so called to be the great Professor Layton's son?!"
Well yes, though I wouldn't let that get to you, because all in all, Alfendi is a great guy. (People are wondering why the title is called "Layton Brothers". When I was playing the game, Alfendi did mention having a brother, so there you go. That not might be the exact explanation, but who knows.) I can tell that his gentle nature and calm composure, along with his awareness and intellect, were inherited from his father. It's really noticeable during gameplay, whenever he interacts with the suspects, to the crime scene, to Lucy. Oh, and Lucy. His interactions with Lucy are sort of like a mix between Professor Layton to Emmy and Professor Layton to Luke. It's only because Lucy is older, though she is still treated like an apprentice regardless of being assigned as an assistant. I think. It's funny, the pair is quite odd, with Lucy as being the rambunctious, eager-to-solve girl, and Alfendi as the quiet, thoughtful gentleman, especially when Lucy finally came to nickname Alfendi as "Prof" (Psst, that's why I said Prof up there), much to his disdain.
No wait, but why is it that it's interesting to play from the perspective of Lucy again?

Because--

- SPOILERS FROM FILE NO.002-

Alfendi has a dark, unstable side, guys.

- END OF SPOILERS -

Okay no they're not really all that spoiler-worthy, but I don't want to show any heavy spoilers sorry sorry :iconpapcryplz:

If you want to see more, go get the game and play it! The game itself and 001-002 cases are free (since the 000 case isn't exactly a case, just more of an intro to the story) and you have to buy the next couple sets of cases.
I'll be buying them because just wow. The story. The gameplay. The characters. They're all great.

Kudos to you Level-5 for making yet another spectacular game!
